The Sovereignty Group
The American people spoke once again in November, 2012 by re-electing President Barack Obama for his last and final term. The 2013 Inauguration of President Obama will be commemorated by a monumental, and grand style inaugural celebration entitled “The Dream Moving Forward” on Sunday, January 20, 2013 presented by The Sovereignty Group. Come and be part of one of the greatest inaugural events in the Nation’s Capital. If you weren’t in Washington, DC to march on Washington with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., here is your opportunity to show support by joining so many distinguished civil rights leaders and celebrities at The Historic Howard Theatre. This will prove to be the most talked about events of inauguration weekend with a star studded list of celebrity hosts and performers, embodied in a sea of dignitaries and prominent influential citizens.
The event will be hosted by award winning actress Angela Bassett with a star-studded line up of celebrities and performers including Patti Labelle and some of the nation’s most highly esteemed and influential dignitaries. The honorary host committee includes; U.S. Congressional Members; Rep. Bobby Rush (1st District-Illinois), Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (6th District-NY), Rep. Yvette D. Clarke (11th District- NY), Dick Gregory (nationally acclaimed Comedian & Civil Rights Activist), Harry Johnson (President and CEO of the Washington, D.C. Your participation will also help us raise funds for two important charities, that celebrate our country’s history; The Memorial Fund for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument and the African American Civil War
In November 2008, the American public elected Barack Obama as the first African-American President of the United States, culminating in his inauguration on January 20, 2009. This historical inauguration was consummated the day after we celebrate the birth date of the world’s most influential civil rights leader and architect of the riveting “I Have a Dream” speech, also delivered here in this great city of Washington, D.C. How incredibly fitting! What an incredible step toward achieving Dr. King’s historically profound vision of equality.
There is not a more suitable place to hold this extraordinary event other than the prestigious, historical Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. Before the Apollo and the Regal, there was The Howard Theatre. The Howard Theatre captivated audiences with speakers like Booker T. Washington, alongside performers like Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, and Nat King Cole. The Howard Theatre has always provided an environment where color barriers blurred and music unified. This is a place where dignitaries like President Franklin D. Roosevelt gathered with everyday people to see both superstars and rising stars. Now it will be the location of this prestigious celebration. The Howard Theatre continues to inspire change just as our 44th President has exemplified during his tenure as The President of The United States of America.
Join us as we rejoice and celebrate progression with the elite citizens of this great country as we welcome back the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, to office. The “The Dream Moving Forward” Inaugural Celebration will undoubtedly be the premier event of this historical weekend. Don’t miss out on this legendary and unforgettable experience. This is not an ordinary event. This will be a lasting memory!
